My research is interdisciplinary, applying insights from ethics, political theory, and legal philosophy to better understand legal practices.
I write about equality and antidiscrimination law, including its public law dimensions and intersections with private law doctrines, constitutional theory, the law and ethics of technology, and topics in bioethics and health law, particularly medical malpractice.
I'm the author of the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy entry on Discrimination and a co-editor for the forthcoming Seventh Edition of the Emond Canadian Constitutional Law casebook. With Sophia Moreau and Haim Abraham as co-editors, we have a book under contract on Tort Law and Social Equality as part of the Cambridge Law Handbooks series with Cambridge University Press.
I'm happy to serve as a peer reviewer for manuscripts related to my areas of expertise. I've been a reviewer for the following journals:
American Journal of Political Science; Australasian Journal of
Philosophy; British Journal of Political Science; Canadian Bar Review; Canadian Journal of Law and Jurisprudence; Canadian Journal of Philosophy; Constitutional Forum; Election Law Journal; Ergo; Health Economics, Policy & Law; International Journal of Discrimination and the Law; Journal of Law & Equality; McGill Law Journal; McGill Journal of Law and Health; Osgoode Hall Law Journal; Ottawa Law Review; Politics, Philosophy & Economics; Review of Constitutional Studies; University of New Brunswick Law Journal; University of Toronto Law Journal
